02Your account

You must be 16 or older to create an account.

When you create an account, you must give us information that is accurate, complete and up to date, and keep it that way. If you do not, you break these terms, and we may close your account immediately.

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens under your account. This also applies when you sign in through another service, such as Google.

Do not share your password with anyone. If you learn of a security breach or of someone using your account without your permission, tell us immediately through our contact page.

03Using Lingium

Lingium offers courses in English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Swedish and Turkish, from level A1 to C1. Every course is free to join.

Without a paid plan, your use of the AI features is limited each day. Paid plans add features and raise those limits. What each plan includes, and its current limits, is shown on our pricing page.

The AI conversation partner and the AI feedback on your writing, speaking and pronunciation are automated. They can make mistakes. Use them to practice, not as an official assessment of your level.

A Lingium certificate shows that you completed a Lingium course, and anyone can verify it online. It is not an official language qualification.

04Paid plans

Some features of Lingium are available only on a paid plan. Paid plans are subscriptions, billed monthly in advance. Your plan renews automatically each month until you cancel it.

You can cancel your plan at any time in your account. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.

We may change the price of a plan. We give you reasonable notice before a new price applies to you. If you keep your paid plan after the new price takes effect, you agree to it.

Live 1-on-1 video sessions with an instructor need an active paid plan and session credits, which you buy separately.

05Payments and refunds

Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. Payments on the web are processed securely by Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details go to Stripe and are never stored by us.

Payments are final unless a refund is offered as part of a specific promotion. You can ask for a refund through our contact page, and we decide each request at our discretion. This does not affect any right to a refund that you have by law.

06Intellectual property

The service and its original content, features and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Lingium Interactive and its licensors. This includes the courses and everything in them: chapters, activities, texts, audio and images.

You may use this content for your own learning. Do not use our name, logo or trademarks in connection with any other product or service without our written permission.

07Content you post

You may be able to post reviews, comments and other content on Lingium. When you post content, you give Lingium a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify and display it in connection with the service.

Do not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent or otherwise objectionable. We may remove any content that breaks these terms.

The answers, texts and recordings you submit in activities are handled as described in our privacy policy.

08Prohibited conduct

When you use Lingium, you agree not to:

• copy, distribute or publicly display course content without our permission
• use automated tools to scrape, extract or download course materials
• share your account or your password with others
• try to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
• use the service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law.

09Links to other websites

The service may link to websites or services that Lingium does not own or control. We have no control over their content, privacy policies or practices, and we take no responsibility for them. We recommend that you read the terms and privacy policy of every website or service you visit.

10Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes, but is not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11Limitation of liability

Lingium Interactive and its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. This includes loss of profits, data, use, goodwill or other intangible losses that result from your use of the service, or from being unable to use it.

Sections 10 and 11 do not limit any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.

12Termination

You can stop using Lingium at any time. You can delete your account on the delete account page.

We may suspend or close your account immediately, without notice or liability, for any reason, including if you break these terms. When your account is closed, your right to use the service ends immediately.

The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue after termination still apply. These include ownership, the disclaimer of warranties and the limitation of liability.

13Governing law

These terms are governed by and interpreted under applicable law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that arises under these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts.

14Changes to these terms

We may change or replace these terms at any time. If a change is material, we give at least 30 days’ notice before the new terms take effect, and we update the date at the top of this page. We decide what counts as a material change.

If you keep using Lingium after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated terms.
