Requirements

What we look for in an instructor.

The Lingium team reads every application. These are the things we look at.

  • The language you teach

    One of the seven languages on Lingium: English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Swedish or Turkish.

  • How well you speak it

    Fluently, so you can hold a natural conversation in it.

  • Teaching experience

    If you've taught before, tell us about it. The form has room for your years of experience and any qualifications.

  • Your setup

    A computer with a camera and microphone, and a quiet place where you can talk.

  • Time to teach

    You set your own weekly hours. We'll tell you about current openings when you apply.

01Do I need to upload any documents?

No. The application is a form, with nothing to upload. The Lingium team reviews it and lets you know when your instructor account is approved.

02Who will I teach?

Learners on a paid Lingium plan: Basic, Essential or Pass. They book live sessions with session credits, which they buy on top of their plan.

03What happens in a session?

You meet one learner on video for 20 minutes, right in your browser. Afterwards, you can leave notes the learner can read: the topics you covered, your feedback and any homework.

04Can I change my hours?

Yes. You add or remove weekly hours in your instructor account whenever you need to, and learners book from the times you offer.

05Do I need a Lingium account?

Yes, and a free one is enough. When you select Apply to teach, you'll be asked to log in or create a free account first. If you already learn on Lingium, use the account you have.
