Why we built Lingium
Four ideas behind every course.
We want you to be able to talk with people in a new language. These four ideas decide what goes into a Lingium course, and what stays out.
Speak early
You speak out loud from your first day, not after months of reading and grammar.
An AI voice conversation and speaking exercises in every topic chapter.
A clear path
Every language has the same five CEFR levels, A1 to C1. You always know where you are, and what comes next.
Start at A1, or join the level that fits you.
Small steps, every day
Chapters are short, so a little practice fits into a busy day. Small, steady steps become a habit.
Daily goals and streaks, with streak freezes for the busy days.
Honest progress
Progress should mean what you can do with the language, not the hours you spent in an app.
Track your progress against CEFR can-do statements.
How our courses are made
Made in-house, one chapter at a time.
We plan every course and build it with our own tools, including AI. The CEFR sets the goals for each level.
Made by the Lingium team
Every course, chapter and activity is created in-house.
Built on the CEFR
One course per level, A1 to C1, each with its own can-do goals.
One rhythm in every chapter
Something new first, then practice in several different ways.
AI for conversation and feedback
An AI conversation partner talks with you out loud, and AI replies to your free-speaking answers. On the Pass plan, AI also gives detailed feedback on your pronunciation, writing and speaking.
